I'll start this by saying that nothing is ever final until you see it in real life. But we have come to a set of drawings that are going to the contractor for bidding. So I guess it does not get any better than that.
First, a layout of the existing kitchen (ignore the demo notes):
This does not show the kitchen table that extends out (from right to left) from the closet (the dotted lines) into about where the word "kitchen" is. You can see it below (look at the blue shadow)
That is a laser scan of the kitchen.
Here is the new layout, plan view:
We are reworking the kitchen to reflect modern appliances (induction cooktop, dual ovens) yet keeping as many of the original elements as possible (Tennessee Marble counter, reusing the sconces, keeping the Berlin (Cherokee) Red Linoleum floor.)
We've also added an island, removed a coat closet, and removed the TAA designed light fixtures from between the windows.
Here is a view looking North, at the main sink and the wall of windows:
The new plan, looking West:
The current image:
The new cooktop will be a bit to the right of the current range, and we'll add counter space to the left of the cooktop. While this is not a huge kitchen, we will make sure we have plenty of counter space, as well as drawers and cabinets.
This is looking South (on the left of the image above):
Ovens, refrigerator, and some cabinets. As well as access to the clothes chute (as long as the AC doesn't need it for a return!)
This is what it looks like now:
Here's the island:
We don't have the final lighting plan, but we will have something like this:
Here is the original light for the Dining Room ceiling:

Next up - Pantry and Powder room.
